Went out with parents to One Utama to catch 2 movies. It was a Wednesday, so movie tickets were cheap. =)
These are the movies we watched : Avatar and Treasure Hunter.
What can I say? For a 2 and a half hour long movie, Avatar was just plain awesome. Sure I'm not the kind that sits through long movies, but for some reason Avatar just kept me hooked. I'd rather appreciate it though, if there were English subtitles for the alien tongue instead of Malay subs in a fanciful font.. To make it worst, they even used short forms of Malay! Its a cinema.. you can't expect there to only be people of one race there. =.= god.. Malaysia.. *rolls eyes*.
Anyway, the storyline is pretty much a modernized and futuristic version of Pocahontas. Soldier(in this case, ex-Marine) meets native, falls in love, and poof! Guess who's side he takes! *grins* But, that's not the main reason you should watch this show for. =) There are many reasons why you SHOULD catch it. For one, the CG used to create the lush world of Pandora is just.. awesome.. what can I say? Breathtaking. Absolutely.. For another, the movie brings us to realize how important nature is to the Human Race and that we're making a great mistake in mowing down all those green forests just to make way for modernization. Oh well, we've heard this one before haven't we? =) OH YEAH! FOR ONE! THEY DID NOT CENSOR NA'VI KISSING NA'VI! WOOT! xD for once! I SEE PROGRESS IN MALAYSIAN CENSORSHIP!
Acting: 9/10
Storyline: 7/10(pretty unoriginal, though new ideas make it a +2)
Moneys-Worth: 10/10 (other than the butt ache you get after that)
Now.. TREASURE HUNTER!... what can I say? fail... tsk tsk.. absolutely fail... Do NOT even bother catching this movie.. Not unless it is a downloaded copy(sorry Jay Chou) or a pirated one.. it is NOT worth your money... honestly... I ought to demand a refund... stone acting, a plot that hardly presents itself, and an empty cinema? Wow... However, I did get my laugh though.. for one, my dad told me that a bunch of youngsters were behind him, and this was fairly much their convo...
